In chapter 1-3 the plot is still in the beginnig. It start with Jonas feeling frightened that something terrible was going to happen. As Jonas walked home and a mysterious airplane passes by the community everybody was orderd to hide inside a property. That caused all the citizens to be frightend and abandon there bicycles. Later on Jonas goes to his house. There family was expressing there daily ritual of telling each other their feelings. That lead his parents to talk about the Ceromony of Twelves and how Jonas shouldn't be worried about it.The chapters shape the theme, you can't get rid of humanity, by having the people in the community hide from the airplain.
Chapter 3-6
In chapters 3-6 the plot is in the rising action. Jonas' dad brings a newchild home in hope that it will grow more and be able to sleep at night. Chapter 3 is important because Jonas starts to see something different about the apple. He sees a change but doesn't know how to discribe the change. In the chapters it states that speakers make announcements to people without using their names. Later in the chapters Jonas goes to the House of Old to do his volunteer hours. There he helps the old take a bath and an elder tells him about how they celebrated the release of another elder. The next day Jonas tells his parents about a dream he had about another Eleven called Fiona. When he finished explaining his dream, his parents tell him to not to worry about it. That it was just the Sturrings and he had to take pills to calm the Sturrings down. Sturrings are the fellings you get when your attractive to the opposite gender. Chapter 6-9
In chapters 6-9 the plot is in at first still in the rising action then goes into the climax. The Ceremonies are staring and it starts with with the Naming Ceremony were a couple gets assign a new child. After this they start to give out things like for the 8 they give them a sweater and a bicycle. Lastly for the 11th soon to be 12th they assign them there job for the rest of there life. This is year its Jonas turn.When it was his turn the Elder skipped him and whent to the next kid. He then became very frightened and worried why she skipped him. Later when the last student was assigned a carrer, she apologized to Jonas about skipping him. Telling him that he wasn't assigned , he was selected to be the new Receiver. When Jonas is in his room he takes the folder out and begins to read what is inside. He is suprised that it was only one sheet with just 8 short instructions on what to do. The next day he goes to the Annex to begin his training. When he meet the Giver, the Giver explains to him how he was selected as a Receiver and how the job made him look older than he really is. When they begin training the Giver transmites a memory of going downhill on a sled in the snow. Then he transmites a memory of sunshine. Weeks later Jonas begins to get glimps of colors around him. When he meets the Giver again Jonas states that it wasn't fair that every thing was the same and that no one could see color but then the Giver helps Jonas realise that the Sameness is there to protect people from harm. Later Jonas expirence the extreme pain of breaking a bone. He then realise that, that was the pain the Elder was talking about when he was selected to become a Receiver. At night Jonas tried to calm little Gabriel so he could sleep. With out noticing he gives Gabriel the memory of a boat sailing calmly in a lake. When he noticed he decided to keep it a secrete, afraid what the Giver will do when he tells him about giving away a memory. The next day the Giver gives Jonas a wonderful memory of a family opening presents and Jonas learns what Grandparents are. He also learns about love. Later in the day he ask his parents if they love him. They just laugh and said to use Precision of language. The next morning Jonas stoped taking the pills. The speaker then announced an unsheduled holiday so they kids get a break from school and trainig. Jonas goes out and decieds to take a ride on his bicycle and sees Asher and other kids playing good guys and bad guys. At first he starts to play but then he realize that it is a game of war and asked Asher to not play the game again. He said that he started to show her good memories fist, but she wanted to experience everything so the Giver gave her the feeling of loneliness. After weeks of pain she couldn't take it and applied for release. He also said that once she was gone the memories returned to the people. Later Jonas mentions of the release of one of the twins. The Giver ask Jonas if he wants to see it and Jonas says yes. When they start watching, they see Jonas' father walk in a windowless room with a new born in his arms followed by a uniformed women with another new born. His father weights them and sees which twin male weight more than the other. The one who weighted the most at 6 pounds was taken by the women to be cleaned. The smaller one at 5 pounce he takes it to a counter and then he takes out a syringe with clear liquid inside. He then puts the needle carefully into the head of the baby and injects the liquid in. The baby cries and struggles but when all the liquid is gone the baby quites down and stoped all movement. Then he cleans the baby and puts him in a box. Jonas watched the screne and noticed that his father killed the baby. Later Jonas doesn't want to go home so the Giver ask a person through the speakers to inform Jonas family unite that he will be staying for extra training. Later they form a plan for Jonas to leave the community. Jonas then tried to convince the Giver to come with him but the Giver refused saying he was needed there and that he wanted to be close to his daughter Rosemary. Jonas asked why and his father answered that when he was gone they thought that Gabriel should spend the night at the Nurturing Center and that it didn't go so well. So they decieded to release him in the morning. He had stolen food, stolen his dad bicycle and he took Gabriel with him. As he reached the other side of the river he look back once then continued pedaling. When morning came stoped and got himself and Gabriel out of the bike. They ate and then Jonas made Gabriel sleep again. They continued to sleep at day and travel by night. He also used a memory of cold to make Gabriel's and his body temperature to drop so that the heat-seeking search planes won't find them. Gabriel would shout "Plane, Plane" before Jonas heard the planes. Over time they became less frequent and one day the planes never came. The landscape changed little by little. One night Jonas fell from the bike because of an unexpected rock in the road. He protected Gabriel but he twisted his ankle and scraped his knee. They began to ride in daylight and one day Gabriel confused a bird with a plane. They began to see wild life and their food was gone. They ate berries they would fine and some fish Jonas would catch. Weather began to change, it started to rain. Bothe Gabriel and Jonas were weak, hungry, and wet. Gabriel not once cried on the begining of the journey cried because he was wet and hungry. Jonas also began to cry for the same reasons and also fearing for Gabriel life. Later he began to clime a hill and it started to get colder. He hugged Gabriel close to his chest to keep him warm. Jonas tried to get hold of a memory of warmth and give it to Gabriel. Then he saw it started to snow. He was soddenly flooded with joy and memories of his family and friends. He finally reached the top of the hill and using the knowledge he had, he found a sled. He climed onto the sled and saw that the hill was steep but the snow soft and they started to go down. Jonas fought to keep his eyes open as they went downward. Then he saw light out into the distance and for the first time he heard something. He heard music.
